God Loves You And Wants Your Love
Will You Receive This and Give Yours?

Why Did God Create People?

God created people to fulfill his desire to be loved.  The bible says the we are created in the image and likeness of God.

Genesis 1:26..."Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

If you take a close look at every one of us it becomes plainly evident and is already proven that our deepest desire as humans is to be "loved", accepted and appreciated.  That is what everyone desires, I don't care who you are, what color you are or where you're from.

Since we are create in the "likeness" of God wouldn't it be safe to assume that God has the same desire.  When you read the bible it becomes plainly obvious this is true.  God desires our love.  And that's why he made us...so that we would give him love.  Think about it, that's the same reason we get married and have kids...all out of the desire to be loved.

The Garden of Eden and the Fall

So God created Adam and Eve and gave them dominion over everything on earth. (Gen 1:26)  King Adam and Queen Eve had it made!  They were even given a garden to live in so magnificent it was like a paradise beyond our comprehension.

God gave them everything in it except for one thing that he asked they refrain from.  ...The tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Everything was going smooth until...they were deceived by the serpent to disobeyed God, and in the process questioned his love and loyalty, and received something from the tree that God was trying to protect them from.  ...There's a good chance you and I would have done the same thing.

So WHY did God put something "tempting" in the Garden?

God made humans to fulfill a desire he had to be loved by his creation.  Since we're created in the image and likeness of God we have this same desire to be loved and appreciated.  All of us do!

Think about this...if we had NO CHOICE but to obey God do you think that would fulfill his desire to be loved?  ...if you have kids and they HAD to love you, would that fulfill your desire? ..if your husband or wife HAD to love you would that fulfill your desire?   ...of course not.

That's why God put the Tree in the Garden and that's why God gave us the power of FREE WILL.  God desires for you to choose him not because you have to but because you WANT to!  It's in that choice in which love is fulfilled.

Just like Adam and Eve Rom 3:23 says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God".  Basically even though we are created in the image and likeness of God...we are not God.  We mess up a lot.

God is Love (1 John 4:8) and his glory is so magnificent that it would blow you away in the presence of its fullness.

Now a days, Sin is a word that has gotten a bad reputation.  Sin simply means something that is displeasing to God.  If you have a child and they do something against your will, they have displeased or sinned against you.

We ALL have a tendency to mess up and not always do the right things.  I'm sure you can relate to that.  Nobody's perfect.  As a matter of fact we can be downright mean and nasty sometimes and not act in love but rather from resentment, jealousy, anger, hatred or bitterness.  That's sin.

The Good News and The Love Offering

God is love and just as a good parent would never permanently turn their back or close the door on their kids, neither would God to you.  Throughout the entire bible God was constantly trying to restore and strengthen relationship with his creation.

With Jesus Christ he demonstrated his ultimate display of love for all mankind.  He sent his own son to die a brutal painful death being crucified on a wooden cross to prove his love for you and I.

John 3:16 says that "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  John 15:13 says..."Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for another."

There was one condition with this though.  Jesus actually had to pull it off by going through with it as an actual "human being"...God incarnate.  He lowered himself to become a human to identify with us.

That means he was tempted to bail out and be distracted from the plan.  He had to feel the emotion of fear and the physical pain that went with it.  The bible says that his soul was in such anguish that he actually sweat beads of blood and prayed that he not have to go through with it.

So, Why did he do it?

Because love is measured with "sacrifice".

You can't buy it or pretend it because it takes sacrifice to prove it.  Unlike many of us, ..God is no fake.  He brings it real, he's hardcore and he is the epitome of love.

With that love comes Grace which is your opportunity to accept the love of God without any strings attached.  Grace is "unmerited favor" which means that you can't earn it, it's simply a gift from God to you.

Eph 2:8-9  For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

This means that no matter what you have done in your life makes no difference.  Everyone has the opportunity to receive this gift.  God sees the potential in all people.  He sees you for what you can be and where you can go with him.  Nothing can keep you from this love accept your own rejection.

You can make a choice and decision right now to accept the love sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for you by giving his life as proof of the depth of his love.

All that you have to do is honestly from your heart say yes I want your love and invite him into your life.  After that, it's a done deal.  "Those that call upon the name of the lord shall be saved."  He just wants your love.  It's the reason he created you.

Once you accept this you will be set free.  Freed from the struggle of trying to fill a love and relationship that ONLY God can.  This choice is the start of an awesome adventure.

Maybe this song will speak to you...

Many things in life are hard for me
Many things can pull us down
I don't understand why I do what I do
How could I take my eyes off you
After all You've done for me
And after all You've done for me

It's by Your grace and love I am saved
It's by Your grace and love You've forgiven me
And by that love and grace I'm amazed
It's by Your grace and love I am free
I am free, I am free, I am free

And it's by grace and love that I am free
I'll live with You eternally
I thank you Lord that I am free
I thank You Lord for loving me
I thank You Lord for dying upon the tree of Calvary
I thank You Lord for loving me
I thank You Lord for dying for me

Because it's by grace and love I am saved
It's by Your grace and love You've forgiven me
And by that love and grace, I'm amazed
It's by Your grace and love I am free
I am free, I am free, I am free

Many things in life are hard for me
Many things can pull us down
But by grace and love You've forgiven me
And by grace and love we are free
